RULES

RIp-City Summer League is excited to provide this opportunity for individuals to play against the best competition in the city. All games will be played at Concordia University Saint Paul.

League Features include:

  • 8 Regular Season Games Guaranteed (2 Games per week)

  • Single Elimination playoffs

  • Certified Officials

  • All Games Played on College Regulation Wood Floors

  • Air Conditioned Facility

  • NCAA Sanctioned

SUMMER LEAGUE FORMAT (General rules)

  • 20 minute halves. Time stops in the final 2 minutes of the second half if a team’s lead is 10

    points or less

  • Free throws-bonus will begin at 7 team fouls, double bonus at 10 team fouls

  • Fouls-Individuals will be disqualified after picking up 6 fouls

  • Time-outs-3 per game

  • Technical fouls-opposing team will get 2 free throws and possession(Any player that

    receives two technical fouls must leave the gym)

  • There will be no 5 second count on players being closely guarded

  • 8 second backcourt count (count starts once player on the floor legally touches the ball)

  • In tie-up situations, a jump ball will be held to determine who possesses the ball

  • Overtime will be 3 minutes and no stopping time(No additional time-outs in over time)

    LEAGUE EXPECTATIONS

  • Any individual that is not listed on a roster will not be allowed to play

  • This league is family friendly, meaning that there will be children present, we expect all

    participants to treat each other with respect

  • There will be complaining to the referees about missed calls, our goal is to make sure that

    the Referees are consistent. They have been instructed to give out 1 warning and technical

    after, if the complaining continues

  • Players who receive 2 technical fouls in one game are expected to leave the gym

    PEACEFULLY, and also there is a possibility of a suspension from the league depending on the severity of the situation

 

WE ENCOURAGE A COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT, WHEN DONE IN ACCORDANCE TO LEAGUE RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
